It doesn't get much better than this!

  • Alan M, RN
  • Mammoth Lakes, CA

A spring time contract at Mammoth Lakes, CA had my wife and I facing record snowfall. Just outside town, there are geothermal areas like Hot Creek, a mountain creek that runs over a hot water vent. Decades ago, some locals built a rock tub and diverted a hot spring into it.

This is a picture of my golden retriever, Dakota, and I enjoying the hot water on a cool day. It's in the middle of BLM land and surrounded by the Sierras. It doesn't get much better than this.

Lake Tahoe on Memorial Day weekend

  • Beth C, RN
  • Donner Lake, CA

My assignment is working for Hospice and Palliative Care of Contra Costa in Walnut Creek, CA. My original assignment was for 13 weeks and I decided to extend for an extra six months because the Walnut Creek area is the "home base" for many areas of "fun". This is my boyfriend Jay, whom I have met out here. The picture is taken near Lake Tahoe at Donner Lake for Memorial Day weekend.

Big Sur

  • Ellen C, RN
  • Atascadero, CA

This photo was taken off of Highway 1 South on route to my assignment in Atascadero, CA. We had stopped at one of the state parks just north of Big Sur and my husband decided to go off one of the trails to take some pictures.

Yosemite National Park

  • Miles H, RN
  • Yosemite, CA

Visiting Yosemite National Park in July 2006 while on assignment in Bakersfield California.

Surfing in Orange Counrty

  • Susan F, RN
  • Orange County, CA

I am a RN and have been working for Aya Healthcare since September 2004. I found a great assignment in Orange County and have made some good friends who introduced me to the surf at San Onofre. Here's a picture of me going surfing.

Drum circle on Venice Beach

  • Linda L, RN
  • Venice Beach, California

The drum circles are something that goes on at Venice Beach quite frequently. Sometimes there are only many different types of drums, other times there are stringed instruments and horns. It's an awesome experience! You see all ethnic groups, ages, types, everything. It is a truly joyful thing that happens spontaneously.

On this day, another travel nurse friend and myself, along with my 24 yr old daughter were in the process of leaving the circle and when I got to the boardwalk I turned and saw the sunset.
