Beautiful San Diego

While on assignment in beautiful San Diego, I visited Balboa Park and hiked up the Torrey Pines trails where I took a photo from the bluff overlooking La Jolla.

So Much to Do in Sunny San Diego!

  • Karen S., RN
  • San Diego, California

My travel nurse assignment is in San Diego at Alvarado Hospital. I work in the ICU unit. I have been to La Jolla, Seaport Village, Coronado Island, the Gaslamp quarter in downtown, the Wild Animal Park, a vineyard where I did some wine tasting and to the top of Mount Soledad, where I could see all of San Diego. This picture was taken at La Jolla Cove. My friends and I were sight seeing that day (I’m the one in green). I love being a traveling nurse in San Diego, because it is sunny almost every day, and there is so much to do on my days off.

Escaping the Winter Cold in San Diego!

  • Anne C., RN
  • San Diego, California

I am working at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, CA. My boyfriend and I, both Colorado natives, came out here in October to escape the Colorado winter. Wow, have we loved this experience! We've gone to the San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, the aquarium, SeaWorld, several state parks, tide pools and just about every beach between Laguna Beach and south of San Diego! We've seen seals, otters and dolphins. On my patio, I've got a pot with petunias blooming in December! We love talking to family at home and hearing them talking about snow and below-zero temperatures as we drive to the beach. This has been an amazing adventure.

The photos are of one of the many anemones we've seen, Mike and I at the beach at sunset, the ocean in Carlsbad and, of course, Shamu!

San Diego—Fun for Me and my Four-Legged Friend!

  • Jessica A., RN
  • San Diego, California

I just finished a travel nurse assignment in the L&D unit of Kaiser Foundation Hospital in San Diego. This photo of me was taken at a dog beach at Fiesta Island last fall. Fiesta Island has the best dog beach/park in San Diego. It isn't very busy, and there is a path that goes around the entire area that is fenced in and borders the water—so there is lots of room for dogs to run. You can walk, run or just bring your beach chair and enjoy the sun!

Enjoying Family Time in San Diego!

This picture is from a trip to the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego. The nationally-known hotel was built in the 1800s and many movies have been shot there (like Some Like It Hot with Marilyn Monroe). It was a very neat place!
